Taking a Closer Look at Celebrity Lace Front Wigs

Taking a Closer Look at Celebrity Lace Front Wigs

It was the glamour and glitz of the old Hollywood stars and celebrities that first brought lace front wigs into the limelight. Lace front wigs were originally designed purely for human hair wigs, which could be adhered to the head for a period of up to three months. However, lace front wigs are no longer exclusive to Hollywood. Wig wearing is now becoming an everyday style for some celebrities who like to change things up regularly. As the trend of everyday lace front wig wear grows amongst celebs, intrigue grows amongst the public who also seek undetectable wigs that let them experiment with style.

In this post, we take a look at celebrities who wear lace front wigs. We explain why these types of wigs are so popular and how you can achieve the right start-studded look for you, depending on the cut of your lace front wig.

Why are lace front wigs such a popular choice?

Lace front wigs are fabulous in creating the illusion that the wig you are wearing is not a wig at all. They give the impression that the hair is growing from your own natural fringe line as the invisible finish to the edging of the wig creates a completely realistic look. Lace front wigs are designed so that you can wear your style away from your face, frequently seen on the likes of Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, creating a style that’s so effortlessly natural. They also give you the added confidence that if you decide to wear a wig with a fringe, your look will still be undetectable even if the wind blows. Celebrities that rock a fringe lace front regularly include Nicki Minaj and Beyonce.

Our celebrity lace front look top tips

The application process for celebrity lace wigs may be slightly different to that for non-celeb everyday wear, as we do not advise that you adhere and leave your wig on for an extended period of time. Our thoughts are that unless you have an entourage of dedicated assistants at your beck and call, you are best to remove your wig every night and pop it on a wig stand. We strongly advise doing this if you are new to wig wear in particular, as it’s the easiest way to keep your wig looking fabulous for longer.

We sell three main types of lace front wigs at Simply Wigs which will all give you a catwalk-ready look. You may have a particular preference of cut depending on how you want to style your wig:

1. Uncut lace front wig

The lace front for these wigs will need to be cut. We suggest that you cut the lace back to where the fibre has been hand-knotted into the lace mesh. Remember, you can always call us on 01484 844557 and we will do our very best to guide you through this process.

2. Pre-cut lace front wig

The majority of our lace front wig collection is pre-cut to give you instant style without the worry of cutting the lace yourself. The appearance of the fringe edging will still be beautifully realistic, you will just not have any additional work to achieve your fabulous look.

3. Scalloped Lace Front Wig

This design allows a gentle finish that you can either leave, or you can trim further back to the hairline should you prefer.

Do I need tape or glue?

So that you can achieve a celebrity lace front look, all of the lace front wigs that we sell can be worn with tape, glue, or if you prefer with nothing at all! If you decide to wear wig tape, then choose the tape that is specifically for lace front wigs. The design of lace front tape ensures that when it is removed from the lace it will not drag, or damage the finish. It is not as strong as the standard wig tape, but you can still be reassured that it will remain secure. At Simply Wigs, we find that wig glue can sometimes be messy to use while the wig tape provides simple security. Alternatively, if you feel confident that your wig will be secure in this particular area, you may wish to use neither.

If you are wanting to have an undetectable fabulous look, lace front wigs are the wigs for you! If you are interested in learning more about other styles of wig, then please read our beginner’s guide to wearing a wig. Or, for more wig related expert tips, just keep reading our blog.

  1. I’m a 74 yr old & I liked a gray patch in the front of my hair. My gray didn’t come in good. It was ugly, so I died my hair dark brown (like a 1B) & left out the gray patch in front. It was beautiful to me. After a while I got a bald spot in the top of my head. So I began with weaves, for a few years. Now my hair line & all looks terrible.
Can anyone make a lace front with a side part & a nice gray front patch? Is this @ all possible.?

  2. I wish manufacturers would make more synthetic wigs with a center-right part. Even if the cap is monofilament allowing for multi directional parting, most wigs are made with a left side part, so when you try to switch it over to a right side, or center right part, the wig has a poof in it because it wants to go back to the left side part, since that is the way it was made. I just wish more weeks came with an already made center right part. More medium brown cool ash tones would be great as well. 🙂

So can someone help me ive tried everything. Im tired really

  5. An old fashion remedy to grow thinning edges is Vapers Rub.
